EPA-certified lead paint inspection specialist serving New Jersey since 2013 — bringing focused expertise, professional XRF equipment, and a genuine commitment to protecting families from lead hazards to every inspection across the Garden State.
Neheru Singh entered the lead paint industry shortly after Hurricane Sandy. At the time, there was a huge demand for qualified inspectors because many of the homes affected by the storm needed environmental inspections before federal assistance money could be released for repairs and rebuilding. A lot of families were stuck waiting — trying to get their homes and their lives back together — and there simply weren't enough inspectors available to handle the workload. Seeing that need firsthand is what pushed Neheru to get involved and become licensed.
What started as an opportunity to help during a difficult time quickly turned into something he genuinely cared about. As he learned more about lead hazards and the impact they can have on families — especially children — he realized how important this work really is. Many of the homes in the Northeast are older properties, and lead paint issues are far more common than most people realize. Neheru wanted to be part of making homes safer, while also helping homeowners and landlords navigate a process that can often feel confusing and stressful.
After becoming licensed, Neheru expanded his certifications into the EPA-administered states as well as Pennsylvania. Over time, that experience opened the door to participating in a national EPA survey involving contaminants in residential homes, including lead paint. That work gave him the opportunity to travel and see housing conditions in different parts of the country, and it reinforced how widespread these issues are. No matter where he went, the common theme was the same: families deserve safe living environments and honest, knowledgeable professionals to help guide them through the process.
Over the years, his experience in the industry has strengthened his commitment to helping property owners, tenants, and municipalities navigate lead safety requirements with professionalism and integrity. He understands that many homeowners and landlords are unfamiliar with the regulations and can feel overwhelmed by the process — especially during stressful situations involving repairs, renovations, or government requirements. His goal has always been to make the inspection process clear, fair, and manageable, while ensuring that families are protected from preventable lead hazards.
Today, Neheru's work continues to be driven by the same purpose that brought him into the field after Hurricane Sandy: helping communities move forward safely. Whether he's conducting inspections, performing dust wipe testing, or assisting clients with compliance, he takes pride in providing reliable service that supports healthier homes and safer living environments throughout the New Jersey communities he serves.
Comprehensive Environmental Services is built on a simple belief Neheru carried out of those early post-Sandy inspections: lead safety shouldn't be confusing, and the people navigating it shouldn't have to do it alone. For a homeowner, a landlord facing NJ Lead Law certification, or a buyer doing their due diligence, a lead inspection can feel overwhelming — full of regulations, deadlines, and stakes that involve the health of the people living in the home.
Neheru's standard has never changed: make the process clear, fair, and manageable; use professional equipment and proven methods; and deliver an honest, accurate report the client can actually act on. No confusion, no pressure — just focused lead expertise and straightforward guidance, with the safety of families at the center of every inspection.
"Families deserve safe living environments and honest, knowledgeable professionals to help guide them through the process." — Neheru Singh, Comprehensive Environmental Services
Comprehensive Environmental Services focuses exclusively on lead paint inspection and testing — we are not a lead abatement or remediation contractor. That independence is a deliberate strength: because we don't profit from removal work, our findings are impartial, and our post-abatement clearance testing is genuinely third-party. EPA regulations require that clearance testing be performed by an inspector independent from the contractor who did the abatement — and that independence is exactly what we provide on every job.
